Sustainability is one of TransportCentralen’s top priorities. We are constantly working to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to climate sustainability. Our efforts include fossil-free distribution and the use of sustainable energy at our facilities.
The fuel of the future
In our industry, fuel consumption is a key sustainability factor. We actively coordinate and streamline our transport operations to minimise environmental impact. Today, all our distribution traffic runs on the fossil-free fuel HVO.
Looking ahead, we see hydrogen as an efficient and sustainable option for heavy transport and construction machinery. Our vehicles will gradually be replaced with hydrogen-powered alternatives. Hydrogen allows us to store solar and wind energy and use it when needed. Our goal is for the entire vehicle fleet to be 100% fossil-free by 2035.

Traffic safety policy
Through systematic safety work, we contribute to achieving Sweden’s road safety goals, in line with the Swedish Association of Road Transport Companies’ safety declaration. This includes responsibility at every level: from management and traffic planners to drivers and contractors.
Solar power – aiming for self-sufficiency
We began investing in solar energy in 2017. Since then, we’ve installed solar panels at our facilities in Halmstad and Falkenberg. Today, we produce most of our electricity ourselves. In fact, we produce more than we consume annually. Our buildings are also equipped with fossil-free heating and LED lighting.

At our recycling facilities in Halmstad and Falkenberg, we work with long-term solutions to handle everything from garden waste to unsorted construction waste in a sustainable way. For us, recycling is a circular process where all materials are reused to the greatest extent possible.
